Mechanism: Sulphonamides prevent the first step in folic acid synthesis in Bacteria , while Trimethoprim second step in folic acid synthesis,both when combined in one preparation gives a Bactericidal effect.
Uses ttt of Bacteria sensitive to them that cause : Urinary tract infections Resp. tract infections Bacterial Gastro entritis skin & soft tissues infections.
Dosage: 1 :2 tabs./12 hours Kids 1 :5 years 5 ml./12 hours 6:12 years 10 ml./12 hrs. —200 ml. of water taken afa Dose— to decrease side effects on the kidney.
