Uses & Doses : ttt of herpes zoster lgm. 3 times daily for 7 days, ttt & prevent recurrence of skin & mucous membrane herpes simplex, including genital herpes, 500gm. twice daily for 5 days. prevention of cytomegalovirus following renal transplantation. 2gm. Daily for 3 months.
Side effects: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headch, fatigue, urticaria, photosensitivity...
Precautions: maintain adequate hydration during ttt, not recommended in pregnancy& lactation, Interactions: its plasma concentration increased with mycophenolate mofetil.
