Praziquantel:anthelmintic with a broad spectum of activity against trematodes (flukes) including all species Schistosoma pathogenic to man, and against cestodes (tapeworms). used in the treatment of cysticercosis, diphyllobothriasis, hymenolepiasis, schistosomiasis, taeniasis, and intestinal, liver, and lung fluke infections Precautions: Praziquantel should not be used in patients with ocular cysticercosis because of the risk ofsot damage resulting from destuction of the parasite. Patients should be warned that praziquantel may cause diz or drowsiness and they should not drive or operate machinery during or for 24 hours after treatment. Breast feeding: distributed into breast milk , mothers should not breast feed during treatment or for 72 hours thereafter.
Dosage: 20-40mgm/kg daily as one dose or divided into 2 Dose.
