what medicine Phenytin 250؟

Phenytoin is used to control tonic-clonic (Grand Male ) and focal seizures, it stabilize rather than elevate the seizure threshold and to limit the seizure activity, phenobarbitone help in relieving the seizure due to its tranquilizing effect .
Adverse effects: lack of appetite, headache, dizziness, tremor, transient nervousness, insomnia, and GIT disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, and constipation. Tenderness and hyperplasia ofthe gums often occurs, particularly in younger patients, hirsutism.
Interactions analgesics may interact with phenytoin. Aspirin is reported to displace phenytoin from plasma binding.
Dosage: 150 mg Daily , increased gradually to max. 300:400 mg Daily divided into 2 Doses . Kids 5mg/kg. Daily increased grad. To max. 8mg/kg/./day on 2 divided doses.
