Bimatoprost is a synthetic prostaglandin F2a .used to reduce intra-ocular pressure in the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension . Reduction in pressure starts about 4 hours after instillation and is maximal within 8 to 12 hours; the effect lasts for at least 24 hours. It is given once daily in the evening as a 0.03% ophthalmic solution
